The new Chevy Cheyenne Concept will probably be a pickup truck that packs a lot of punch. It will probably also make use of a number of Camaro Z/28 parts. In theory, the Cheyenne Concept will probably be locking horns with the likes of the Ford 2014 F-150 Tremor. Of course, the vehicle is still a concept car, or is it really just a concept car? Chevy recently displayed the Cheyenne Concept car in 2013. Company officials say that this concept car is one that everyone needs to take notice of. This should make us think that the company is planning on putting the concept car into production soon.
Chevy Cheyenne Concept: Engine Specs
Chevrolet has earned a reputation for its excellent sports street pickups. From 1990 when it introduced the 454 SS till now the company has consistently produced some great vehicles. A massive V8 engine powered the original Silverado. However, production of the Silverado stopped in 2006. When the SEMA Auto Show was held in Las Vegas in 2013, Chevrolet came out and introduced the Chevy Cheyenne Concept, which it said would be produced in twelve months time.
Chevy Cheyenne Concept: Redesign Exterior and Interior
This new Cheyenne Concept car will owe much to the small 1500 Silverado and will have two doors as well as rear wheel drive. New parts will be introduced into the Cheyenne Concept car. These parts will be made from carbon fiber. The end result is that the new Concept car will be about 91 kilograms lighter in weight. It will also have new bumpers and will ride on 19-inch wheels and an adapted suspension as well as special brakes.
On the inside, the Chevy Cheyenne Concept will be refreshed. The new sports seats are a welcome addition as too is the new steering wheel. The interiors have plenty of interesting equipment to make your drive that much more pleasant and enjoyable.
However, the main change to the Chevy Cheyenne Concept is to its drive. The regular 5.3-liter V8 engine will be swapped with a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine that is capable of producing 420 horsepower and 623 pound feet of torque. Power will be transferred to rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Chevy Cheyenne Concept: Release Date and Price
Although the Chevy Cheyenne Concept car is nothing more than a concept car, we can say with some degree of assurance that it will soon be mass-produced. When that happens the car should be available in dealerships sometime in 2015. This concept car will succeed the redoubtable 454SS. This is why the car will probably be called the Chevy Silverado SS. On the outside, the vehicle rides on 19-inch wheels and it has special bumpers that make the vehicle look very sporty. Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a number of sporty features. The sports steering wheel and special seats make driving this vehicle a real pleasure. It also has a specially adapted sport suspension. Chevrolet has still not announced when it plans to introduce the vehicle. However, we can expect it to unveil the vehicle sometime in 2015 or early next year. The Chevy Cheyenne Concept impressed everyone when it was first unveiled in 2013. We can but wait with bated breath for the car to be introduced into the market this year.
