After many years, Japanese giant Mitsubishi is at last going to update one of their most popular and hugely successful pick-up models L200 which is also known as Mitsubishi Triton in many countries. This undisputable titan of pick-ups, the 2016 Mitsubishi L200 is all set for a launch at the Geneva Motor Show and will be available for sale very soon. This new version 2016 Mitsubishi L200 has many updates to its design and overall performance, so, it better to watch out for another revolution in pick-up class.
2016 Mitsubishi L200: Redesign Exterior and Interior
This new version of Mitsubishi L200 promises to scale great heights. It will come with a replaced torsion bar and former front suspension systems. The Mitsubishi L200 will now have independent double wishbones along with coiled springs in place of the erstwhile suspension system which will impart great performance and power to it. The front end and rear end has also been stripped down and redesigned from its previous model. New Mitsubishi L200’s front is redesigned with an eye catching radiator grille with Mitsubishi’s logo on it and beautiful LED lights. The new exterior design on the L200 not only gives it a different look but also considerably reduces aerodynamic drag.
This seven seat 2016 Mitsubishi L200 has lots of space in it. It has been fitted with the latest satellite navigation technology that makes driving smooth and easy. A touch screen inside L200 controls various functions like navigation, climate control and entertainment. L200’s infotainment system is also fitted with Digital and Broadcasting radio system, i-Pod connectivity and Bluetooth. Additional standard and optional elements include features such as Club Cab version, automatic climate control, keyless operation with an engine start/stop button, steering column mounted paddle shifters, cruise control with adaptive speed limiter, rear view camera and power assisted rack & pinion adjustable steering wheel, which provides a great overall driving experience. Seats of this new L200 has been done up in leather upholstery with gloss black and metallic detail. These seats are equipped with contact points and are extremely comfortable to sit upon.
2016 Mitsubishi L200: Engine Specs
Under its hood, the main improvement on 2016 Mitsubishi L200 has been an all-new 2.4 litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine which is available in two variants. The lower, entry level engine has 151 brake horsepower along with 280 pound feet of torque. Higher level engine brags of 178 brake horsepower along with 317 pound feet of torque. The engine is coupled by a six speed manual gearbox, a four wheel drive, with also an automatic option made available. The chassis of this latest L200 has a 7 per cent higher torsional rigidity to endure tough terrains and challenging condition under which it is going to operate, according to Mitsubishi. Most importantly, the new L200 will have lower emission figures with CO2 levels dropping from 199 g/km to 169 g/km.
2016 Mitsubishi L200: Release Date and Price
The all-new 5th Generation 2016 Mitsubishi L200 is set to hit the markets by the end of 2015 with Mitsubishi preparing for a launch at the Geneva Motor Show. The price, though not announced by Mitsubishi, is being speculated to be around $ 46 000.
